Goldeneye Xbox Live Arcade Video Leaked!

Nintendo and Microsoft might not be able to make up and bring Goldeneye to the masses via Xbox Live Arcade, but that can't stop video of the work in progress from leaking onto the net. Today, the video above was posted to YouTube by a user who registered yesterday. And, there are plenty of hints this isn't just another gaming hoax...

So, what evidence is there that this isn't just a Nintendo 64 emulator running on a PC? Well, take the following into consideration:

  • At 1:43. On the N64, you have to switch to the pause menu to activate the camera and then take a picture. On here, whoever did it switched to the camera on the fly.
  • Characters and guns have more polygons and textures than the N64 classic
  • The menus have been changed, including the ammo icons
  • The game is running in widescreen
  • Shows the red 360 button and says "saving don't turn off your console"
Word is the mysterious new YouTube member is actually an employee at Rare who's trying to get attention on this stalled fan favorite. I'm up for some four player death match right now.

Petition anyone?

that could just be a modded version of Goldeneye running on an emulator. i don't think it'd be that hard.

Yeah, I smell modded emulation.

Look up "OoT Textures" in google and check out the results. There should plenty of mods that show off new and smoother textures.

The rest is easily faked.

if it's just emulated then, why is it running it widescreen? and, why does the 360 load screen appear?
